Empowering Women to Lead

Empower Peace offers three distinct Women2Women International Leadership programs:

Women2Women America – International Leadership Program (W2W America) is our flagship 10-day program that takes place each summer in Boston, MA. This program provides participants between the ages of 15-19 years with an educational opportunity to learn, network, and acquire leadership skills that will empower them to make a difference in their respective communities and countries.

W2W America includes team-building activities, seminars and workshops with prominent leaders representing government, media, business, science and technology, and non-profit organizations. The sessions focus on leadership development, skills building and cultural activities. Each year up to 125 young women representing countries throughout the world are selected to attend.

Women2Women Virtual University (W2WVU) was launched in 2020 as a way continue our educational programming during the pandemic. The model proved to be successful as it enabled us to connect young women throughout the world and provided a meaningful educational experience. W2WVU participants receive a certificate of completion and join the robust W2W Alumnae Network. W2WVU programs have been developed for international audiences as well as country-specific programs including Bahrain, Belgium, and India and Pakistan.

In-Country Programs Empower Peace has successfully designed and implemented in-country programs to meet the growing demand for leadership skills training for young women worldwide. In-country programs have proven to be an effective tool to engage young women in the issues that define their lives. They find a common ground with each other and from that a strong, supportive network is formed. In addition, they are immersed in an educational experience that is transformative in both how they see themselves and the opportunities around them. To date, Empower Peace has conducted W2W programs specifically for Bahrain, Belgium, and Egypt. Additionally Empower Peace has convened W2W Alumnae in Jordan and the Netherlands.

Program Cornerstones

Leadership Development

This workshop will focus on defining leadership and will give delegates a clear vision of what it means to be an effective leader. Delegates will gain a clear understanding of the different types of leadership, and will determine their own leadership style and how it gives them a unique advantage when pursuing their goals.

Public Speaking

Inspiring and motivating others starts with the effective delivery of ideas and effective presentations are part of the core of education, business and community. This workshop will focus on the basics of public speaking and tips to help you prepare and present in front of an audience.

The Art of Negotiation

Negotiation is a core leadership skill. Being a skilled negotiator can provide individuals with the confidence to ask for what they need and the ability to get results. During this workshop, delegates will learn the practical skills and strategies of negotiation.

Social Media

This workshop will talk about using social networks to bring about positive social change. The W2W delegates learn how action-oriented social networks are formed and how to connect people to build a foundation for positive change. By the end of the workshop our young leaders have not only learned how to analyze a social network, they create their own network that can be used to further their action plans.

Gender Equality

Women around the world continue to make great strides toward equality. Unfortunately the percentage of women in positions of authority remains below their male counterparts. “Women as Agents of Change” will engage delegates in a discussion about the critical role women play in shaping our societies and the importance of having women in leadership positions in all fields.

Action Plan Development

Each W2W delegate is charged with the responsibility of developing an action plan on an issue they care about in their own country. Throughout the week they participate in workshops and discussions that are specifically designed to help them develop their action plan and present it to a panel of experts who provide feedback and recommendations. The network our delegates form during W2W provides the support needed to not only develop their action plans but also to provide the encouragement needed when they return home.
